Allibert Trekking will offer tours to Priorat in 2009
Allibert Trekking, one of the oldest and most important specialist travel agents in France, will be offering tours to the Priorat in their new 2009 brochure.
Thanks to contact made with the Priorat tourist board at the Salon de Randonées in Paris last April, the group (including various journalists from France) visited the Priorat last Thursday, 16th October in order to reconnoître the area. The route they have designed is based on 7 days walking of medium difficulty. The starting point is the village of Ulldemolins and finished in La Bisbal de Falset, passing on the way through Cornudella, Siurana, La Morera de Montsant and la Vilella Baixa.
During the four days spent in the Priorat, the journalists and specialists tried out various routes, visited wineries and also the Carthusian monastery of Scala Dei, as well as enjoying an extra virgin olive oil tasting and sampling local home-made produce.
The media chosen to cover the event were the magazines: Trek Magazine, Impact Medecine, Glamour and the newspapers: La voix du nord and Les echos.
Once the journalists and tour operator have seen the possibilities of the area, they have decided to look into cycling routes as another package to offer their customers.
The Press trip has been sponsored by the Spanish Tourist Board in Paris and the Costa Daurada Tourist Board.
