Clos de l'Obac
Information
Clos de l'Obac (Costers del Siurana) was founded in 1987, one of the wineries that were part of the so-called “rebirth" of Priorat wine. Its first wines came out in 1989, Miserere in 1990 and Dulce del Obac in 1991.
Taking as a starting point the importance of an abrupt terrain, we embarked on a project aiming to recapture the spirit of those old monastic vineyards by replanting and restoring some of the slate hillsides that made up the land that from the 12th century onwards paid tithes to the Carthusian monastery of Escaladei. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah were introduced, while conserving the old vineyards of grenache, tempranillo and carignan.
