The Festa de les Xiques (Girls' Day) on 6th December is an old tradition mixing coques (cakes) and dancing jotas.
Places to visit
You can visit the ancient settlement, a set of archaeological remains dating from the 8th and 9th centuries BC, on the hill known as Mont Calvari. Some of the pieces unearthed there are displayed at the Salvador Vilaseca museum in Reus.
There used to be considerable mining around El Molar, extracting lead, barite, manganese and the clay known as “terra de batà” which was used to remove grease stains. Some of the lead mines are still there.
The 18th-century parish church is dedicated to Sant Roc (St. Roch) and Sant Isidre (St. Isidore).
There is also the interpretation center "Mina Loussa i Linda Mariquita" (progressive school and field hospital during the Spanish Civil War).
