La Morera de Montsant and Escaladei climbing zone

The vertical walls of the Cingle Major de Montsant and the conglomerate boulders that have fallen down the mountain close to the villages make La Morera de Montsant and Escaladei a highly attractive municipality for all climbing enthusiasts. They boast a wide range of options to climb routes of different grades, both for traditional and sport climbing.

Unrestricted climbing zone (climbable all year round):

Racó del Federico
Enormous conglomerate rock, reachable by vehicle, beside the road (TV-7021, 1 km along from La Morera de Montsant towards Cornudella de Montsant).

Racó del Vilà
Set of conglomerate boulders 15 minutes' walk from La Morera de Montsant along the Grau de Salfores path.

El Totxo
Large conglomerate rock at the foot of the Montsant via ferrata. It's 30 minutes walk, where the Grau de Salfores path starts to climb.

Racó de Missa
Sector with vertical walls on the cliff known as the Cingle del Racó de Missa. Reached from the village of La Morera de Montsant or that of Escaladei.

30 minutes walk along the Grau de Salfores path from La Morera de Montsant and 15 minutes drive along the track where the GR171 between  La Morera de Montsant and Escaladei runs (ask about the state of the track if you are not in a four-wheel drive).

Conditional climbing zone (climbable from July to December): 

La Falconera

Large sector of vertical walls on the Cingle Major, over the village of La Morera de Montsant. 30 minutes walk along the Grallera, Espinós, Agnet, Barrots and Carrasclet paths.
